Our Story.

A conversation. A bottle of whiskey. A patch of woods.

"what began as a conversation over a bottle of whiskey on a hot summer night… Quickly became a family passion project."

"Let's make the woods more accessible."

It was settled. This was something we were all passionate about — and the idea of building it out of storage containers was the icing on the cake (or maybe the whiskey talking). My parents, Jeff & Heidi, have lived on this beautiful chunk of land for a while now. My siblings and I grew up romping around in these very evergreens, and we really believe that more people need to experience what the woods have to offer. Thus, Sölveig Stay was our first build. So much learning happened along the way — and ultimately only fanned the fire of our excitement for this project.

This may come as a shocker (it did to us) but we love working with family, and our projects wouldn't be complete without our diversity in skillsets. They've morphed along the way. Adapted to the environment and resources available. And turned out to be something we are so proud to be able to open up to you.

An ideal place for refreshing and refocusing

Everything is Intentional

Sölveig is the Old Norse word for 'sun's path' — the light that finds its way home. Our architecture is dialed in for a specific guest. Both spaces offer minimal design curated to re-focus and re-fresh its inhabitants. Whether you're looking for a romantic couples getaway, spa weekend, or workspace as a digital nomad — Sölveig was designed to spark creativity and relaxation.

The paintings on the walls.

"My dad — founder of Sölveig — is a full-time oil painter, and so kindly agreed to let us feature his work in our space."

— Sophia

The oil paintings throughout both Stay and Sentō are Jeff Larson's. They aren't decoration — they're the room.

Come Stay.

The woods are waiting.

Two properties, one patch of evergreens, and a family that genuinely hopes you find what you came for.
